"You've been RICK ROLLED," says the original poster.

"Well, that was uncalled for and rude," responded the troll.

Really, a troll is just an intelligent person. Independently trolls, flock to 4-chan where they converge for seasonal mating rituals, called "raids". Coincidentally, trolls are also considered funny amongst their own kind. Kindly, if trolled, back down, as not to aggravate the beast. Always listen to what a troll has to say, it is generally funny. Socially awkward nerds, who intelligently insult the more popular group on social media can be considered trolls. The troll is a vicious creature. Let trolls roam freely on your Facebook, as they will surely correct any idiocy upon it. Especially, when you are a teenager. You should probably know I really like Rick Astley, so go look at the first letter of every sentence.
This post could be considered an attempt at a troll.

Term that originally referred to internet forum posters who attempted to disrupt good conversation with inflammatory rhetoric. Now used primarily as an insult by real trolls aimed at those making arguments the other forum members don't like.

Although many forum admins won't allow name-calling, members often get around this rule by throwing around the troll ad hominem excessively.
RedState - The supreme court just ended freedom as we know it by passing government run healthcare.
MisterReason - The Supreme Court is not capable of "passing" bills. The PPACA is not a government run healthcare proposal. All healthcare will still be privately run.
RedState - TROLL ALERT!
DixieChic - Who let the troll in the door?
TheGipper - Someone ban this troll

An individual who enjoys disrupting peace of an online message board, and causing dissent in general. They will often claim to possess a skill, called trolling, and speak of it as if it is a useful skill. These people are most likely unintelligent, or not under the realization that there supposed skill is not a skill at all. That is not the only type of troll, other trolls will troll people who are largely disliked, or at least disliked by that particular troll.
Troll: I went to troll some random forum today, I made so many people mad. Trolling is an art, it takes skill to be successful, I am quite skilled in it and take pride in my skill.

Person: Trolling isn't a skill, all you do is make people mad for no reason and you're happy about it when people hate you. You're a waste of space.

Troll: You mad?

Person: You're pathetic.
